BERLIN PREVENTION WORKS CELEBRATES RED RIBBON WEEK

Writer: MosaicMosaic

Berlin Prevention Works Coalition for Drug and Alchohol-Free Communities invites the members of the Berlin, MD community to take a visible stand against drugs by celebrating Red Ribbon Week from October 23-31.

Red Ribbon Week raises awareness of drug use and the problems related to drugs facing our community and encourages parents, educators, business owners, and other community organizations to promote drug-free lifestyles.

This year’s celebration looks a bit different as we've been impacted with COVID-19, but we've kicked off with our virtual coalition meeting (October 22) featuring guest speakers Anect Rivas and La'Risa McLennon, Diversion Outreach Coordinators of the DEA.

Activities scheduled throughout the week include:

- Harvest Festival: Pumpkin Palooza

- Deterra Bag District with Training for Rx Drug Take Back

- BPW Coalition Capacity Building Featuring DEA Guests Speakers

“Red Ribbon Week encourages our entire community to adopt healthy, drug-free lifestyles,” said Darlene Jackson-Bowen, Ph.D., PA, President and CEO Building Mosaic Solutions Inc.

Red Ribbon Week brings together parents, schools, and businesses as we look for ways to keep kids and communities drug-free.
